Travel: Geneva to Chalon-sur-Saône
Your journey begins with a scenic drive from Geneva to Grand Victoria, elegantly moored in Chalon-sur-Saône. On arrival, you’ll be welcomed aboard with champagne and canapés, setting the tone for the days ahead. Settle into your surroundings and enjoy your first dinner on board.
Travel: Chalon-sur-Saône to Tournus
Wake to a relaxed breakfast as Grand Victoria cruises along one of the prettiest stretches of the Saône River. By afternoon, you’ll be in the heart of Burgundy’s wine country, where a vineyard visit and private tasting introduce you to some of the region’s most celebrated wines. Return to the barge for cocktails and dinner on board.
Travel: Tournus to Mâcon
Continue downstream through scenic waterways toward the historic town of Mâcon. In the afternoon, visit the remarkable Château de Cormatin, known for its moat, elegant interiors, and beautifully maintained gardens. Back on board, enjoy another excellent dinner as the evening settles over Burgundy.
Travel: Mâcon to Villefranche-sur-Saône
Experience French village life at a lively local market, where you can browse regional produce and soak up the atmosphere alongside local shoppers. Later, return to the barge and cruise onward to Villefranche-sur-Saône. Depending on the day’s rhythm, you may also have the opportunity to join the chef for a cooking demonstration before dinner.
Travel: Villefranche-sur-Saône to Collonges
Cruise to the village of Collonges, where one of the highlights of the week awaits: lunch at the legendary Paul Bocuse restaurant, a celebrated name in French gastronomy. Afterward, return to Grand Victoria for time to unwind on deck or relax in the hot tub before another fine evening on board.
Travel: Collonges to Lyon
Enjoy breakfast as you cruise toward Lyon, the gastronomic capital of France. Take in the grandeur of the Basilique de Fourvière and, time permitting, nearby Roman remains. Later, return to Grand Victoria for a festive final dinner celebrating the week’s experiences.
Travel: Transfer to Geneva
After one final breakfast on board, say farewell to Grand Victoria and her crew. Your private transfer returns you to Geneva, leaving you with lasting memories of your time on the water.
